Objectives

Improve first-step explosiveness and acceleration mechanics for base stealing and fielding.

Coaching cues

Feet shoulder-width on balls of feet; lean until almost falling; explode first three steps with chest up and shoulders back.

Steps

  1. 1. Athletic stance feet shoulder-width
  2. 2. Lean forward until falling point
  3. 3. Explode first three steps
  4. 4. Continue into full sprint
