Infield Footwork with Agility Ladder and Throw

Ladder-based infield footwork series that transitions directly into a fielding action and accurate throw, combining agility and baseball-specific movement.

Coaching notes

Players move through ladder patterns (one-foot, two-foot, lateral, icky shuffle) and immediately receive a ground ball or short hop, then throw to a target.

Objectives

Improve foot speed, coordination, and the ability to field and throw accurately immediately after high-intensity footwork.

Coaching cues

Stay on the balls of the feet; quick clean ladder steps; field in front; finish the throw with balance.

Common errors

Looking down at the ladder; stopping feet before the ball; off-balance throws.
