Drill that forces the hitter to keep eyes on the ball and proper head/shoulder position by catching tossed balls while turning the chin.

Coaching notes

Hitter turns the chin and shoulder while tracking and catching soft tosses, training the eyes to stay on the ball through the swing path.

Objectives

Improve head position, eye tracking, and staying on the ball longer.

Coaching cues

Turn the chin; keep eyes locked; soft hands to catch; stay balanced.

Common errors

Pulling the head; looking up early; lunging.
