Coaching notes

Players work with a PVC pipe under the back foot or in a specific position to create tactile feedback that promotes staying grounded and connected throughout the pitching motion.

Objectives

Coaching cues

Stay connected to the ground; feel the sequence; do not leap; maintain posture and direction.

Common errors

Leaping off the back foot; disconnecting the upper body; losing the feel of the pipe feedback.

Steps

  1. 1. Place PVC under back foot or in designated position
  2. 2. Slow delivery focusing on ground connection
  3. 3. Progress to full tempo while maintaining the feel
  4. 4. Remove the pipe and retain the sensation
