Coaching notes
K-throw setups, drop-into-drive-leg variations, hop-and-pulse drills, and body-weight squat integrations that teach absorb-produce-store energy patterns.
Objectives
Improve drive-leg loading and stability; increase hip rotational speed; build the ability to own energy in the delivery for effortless velocity.
Coaching cues
Drop aggressively into the drive leg; stabilize with minimal forward shift; snap the hips; absorb then produce.
Common errors
Leaking energy forward; soft drive leg; early lead-leg push; loss of posture.
Steps
- 1. K-Throw Setup — Establish glove-hand position and drop into the drive leg.
- 2. Cross & Step-Back Variations — Add lead-foot cross and step-backs for momentum.
- 3. Hop + Pulse — Trigger faster hip rotation with hop-and-rotational-pulse drills.
