Coach or machine delivers a continuous series of varied balls (fly, line, bounce, ground) while the outfielder fields, transitions, and throws to a designated target without pause.
Objectives
Build game-speed decision making, crow-hop consistency, and endurance under continuous pressure.
Coaching cues
Read early; stay athletic; crow-hop through every throw; no false steps.
Common errors
Hesitation between balls; poor footwork into the throw; dropping the head after the catch.
Setup
Open outfield; multiple baseballs; clear throwing lane to target.
Steps
- 1. Outfielder in ready position
- 2. Coach delivers rapid sequence of fly, line, bounce, and ground balls
- 3. Player fields each cleanly and throws to target with crow hop
- 4. Continue without pause for set number of balls
- 5. Rest and repeat
