Catching Made Simple progression that starts from single-knee, walks the hands out into a block, then adds rapid lateral slides with balls.

Objectives

Improve blocking posture, lateral range, and the ability to recover quickly between pitches.

Coaching cues

Hips high then back; shoulders over the knees; slide with chest down; recover fast to ready.
