High Tee Back-Pocket Coil Drill
High-tee drill that forces hitters to feel the back-pocket contact point and proper lower-body coil/posture.

Coaching notes
Tee set high so the hitter must coil into the back hip and maintain posture (butt back, chest over) to make solid contact.
Objectives
Improve lower-body load, posture, and the feeling of staying connected through the swing.
Coaching cues
Push the hips back; feel the back pocket; keep the chest over the plate; stay connected.
Common errors
Standing up out of the coil; lunging; losing the back-hip load.
Steps
- 1. Set tee high (above normal belt height)
- 2. Load into the back hip with posture
- 3. Swing while maintaining the coil feel
- 4. Repeat focusing on back-pocket contact
