Coaching notes

Pitcher works the hand-break sequence on a controlled count so the hands separate cleanly and the arm path stays on time with the lower half.

Objectives

Improve timing of hand separation, create consistent arm path, and reduce early or late breaks.

Coaching cues

Break on the count; keep the front side closed; feel the separation without rushing.

Common errors

Breaking too early or late; opening the front shoulder with the hands; collapsing posture.

Steps

  1. 1. Start in balanced position with hands together
  2. 2. On '1' begin the lower-half move
  3. 3. On '2-3' execute a clean hand break and arm path
  4. 4. Finish in a controlled follow-through; repeat 8-10 times
