Coaching notes

Outfielder takes a subtle preparatory shuffle, then explodes into a deep drop step with the plant foot, opening the hips and accelerating under control.

Objectives

Create a physical speed change on the first step, improve hip opening, and make drop steps more explosive and efficient.

Coaching cues

Subtle shuffle then explode; plant and open the hip; deep angle; stay controlled while accelerating.

Common errors

No speed change; shallow drop step; upright posture; loss of balance.
