Double Tee Casting Prevention Drill

Coaching notes

Two tees are placed so that a casted barrel will hit the rear tee. The hitter must work inside the ball and keep the hands tight to contact only the front ball cleanly.

Objectives

Eliminate casting; promote inside path; improve connection and barrel control.

Coaching cues

Work inside the ball; keep the hands tight; miss the rear tee completely.

Common errors

Casting the hands out; early extension; looping path.

Steps

  1. 1. Set two tees so a cast hits the rear one
  2. 2. Load normally
  3. 3. Swing tight and inside to contact only the front ball
  4. 4. Feel the connection required to miss the rear tee
  5. 5. Repeat
